‘Birth’ Couture Autumn/Winter 2019-2020

Working towards a shared vision of sustainability in the fashion and apparel industries, Spiber’s first collaboration with YUIMA NAKAZATO was exhibited in the Fall/Winter 2019/20 couture collection at Paris Fashion Week.

In addition to featuring Spiber’s Brewed Protein™ materials in all of the collection’s pieces, Yuima Nakazato employed a process called Biosmoking—a textile-modelling method for creating three-dimensional textures by precisely controlling Brewed Protein™ textiles—to open new frontiers in the role aesthetics play in our world.
