Initially scheduled to commence within 2021, production of Brewed Protein™ polymers at Spiber’s Rayong, Thailand plant has been delayed due to the recall of all Spiber Japan employees in Thailand in August this year in response to the spread of COVID-19 within Thailand and the subsequent strain on the Thai medical system. After receiving vaccinations in Japan, employees began returning to Thailand from October and are currently restarting trial operation of the plant towards the launch of production in Q1 of 2022.
