A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE announces the “TYPE-XI Spiber project”, a joint initiative with Spiber Inc. This project aims to tackle societal challenges and contribute to a sustainable future, demonstrating the combined power of technology and design.
The first product of the TYPE-XI Spiber project is a pair of timeless straight-leg, five-pocket pants made with over 50% Brewed Protein™ fiber. These pants utilize the difference in shrinkage between Brewed Protein™ fiber yarn and plant-based polyester yarn to create a striped pattern, presenting a new expression of the Steam Stretch technique. The blend of the two materials ensures a soft and comfortable fit, while their natural color, achieved without dyeing, enhances the inherent beauty of the fabric.
The product will be available starting February 1, 2025, at A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE and select ISSEY MIYAKE stores.
