Announcing new strategic partnerships with Manifattura Sesia and Achille Pinto to expand Brewed Protein™ fiber integration in Europe
We are pleased to announce new strategic partnerships with Manifattura Sesia and Achille Pinto, two leading Italian textile mills.
Manifattura Sesia, long committed to responsible material innovation and refined quality, has collaborated with Spiber to develop a new yarn line named “T-Gen” (short for Technological Generation Yarns). Incorporating 30% Brewed Protein™ fiber blended with RWS- and Nativa-certified Superfine Merino Wool, T-Gen yarns offer exceptional softness and a lighter specific weight than pure wool, enhancing both technical performance and comfort.
Achille Pinto, a renowned Italian mill recognized for its high-detail jacquards and printed textiles, has launched fabric collections featuring 15–30% Brewed Protein™ fiber blended with silk and wool. These fabrics are the first in Europe to combine Brewed Protein™ fiber with silk, showcasing the fiber’s versatility and luxurious appeal. Achille Pinto has also become the first European manufacturer to demonstrate printing capabilities on Brewed Protein™ fabrics, broadening the scope for design innovation in accessories like scarves and shawls.

Alongside these latest partnerships, Spiber’s early collaborators are also unveiling their newest developments in Brewed Protein™ materials at Pitti Filati and Milano Unica.
Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia has introduced two yarns featuring Brewed Protein™ fiber, each distinguished by unique finishing techniques. These yarns, ideal for premium knitting applications, merge the advanced functionality of Brewed Protein™ materials with the company’s expertise in merino wool processing. A color range featuring 30% Brewed Protein™ fiber blended with 70% RWS-certified wool is also available.
Botto Giuseppe continues to lead innovation by renewing its 100% Brewed Protein™ worsted yarn—the only such yarn currently available in Europe. Offered in a broad array of hues from the Silkslow Color card, the yarn is also available with customized color options to suit diverse creative demands.
Marzotto Group has refreshed its “FiberPro” collection with five new tailoring fabrics containing 30% Brewed Protein™ fiber. These textiles, blended with premium wool, exemplify the group’s commitment to pioneering materials for contemporary and responsible menswear.
Takisada-Nagoya, a textile specialist based in Aichi, Japan, is launching over 20 new fabric developments. Highlights include the first suit fabric made entirely from 100% Brewed Protein™ fiber, outerwear blends with wool, and seven new denim qualities co-created with Okayama-based Shiota. One standout denim includes 20% Brewed Protein™ fiber—currently the highest concentration of Brewed Protein™ found in denim.
All innovations will be exhibited at Spiber’s booths: Q/11 at Pitti Filati, and JOB A13 at Milano Unica. These initiatives represent Spiber’s ongoing commitment to advancing responsible textile innovation and scaling sustainable materials across the global fashion industry.
