BioCircular Materials Alliance welcomes new members including Decathlon
The BioCircular Materials Alliance (BCMA) is pleased to announce the addition of new members: globally renowned sports and outdoors brand Decathlon, Turkish supply chain players Elyaf Tekstil and Yeniçeri Tekstil, and Positive Materials. Their participation marks an important step forward in our collective mission to advance biocircularity within the textile and materials industry.

Meet the new members:
Decathlon
Founded in 1976 in France, Decathlon is the world’s largest sporting goods retailer, with over 2,000 stores globally. The company designs and produces sports gear for more than 70 sports, integrating concrete environmental initiatives while consistently ensuring high product quality.

Decathlon, along with other Members, is contributing to the development of the Alliance’s Product Design Guidelines by engaging in discussions and providing insight informed by their experience with sportswear and performance products. Decathlon’s input helps ensure that the Guidelines reflect practical considerations across a wide range of material applications.
Elyaf Tekstil
Founded in 1987 and based in Bursa, Turkey, Elyaf Tekstil is a leading textile manufacturer specializing in high-quality, eco-friendly fabrics for women’s fashion. Exporting to major markets like the EU, UK, and US, the company is a pioneer in sustainable products and production techniques and is recognized as an R&D Center by the Turkish Ministry of Industry.
Yeniçeri Tekstil
Founded in 2000 and based in Izmir, Turkey, Yeniçeri Tekstil specializes in woven and knitted fabrics for European fashion brands. Operating a 6,000 m² solar-powered facility, the company focuses on sustainable production with certifications including GOTS and OCS, offering a wide range of eco-friendly fabric options.

Elyaf, Yeniçeri, and several of Spiber’s supply chain partners are supporting the process scale-up development of Metabolic Recycling technology by supplying representative fabric samples for experimentation.
Positive Materials
Founded in 2022 and based in Portugal, Positive Materials supports textile innovation start-ups and established consumer brands as a strategic partner for research activities and cutting-edge developments. Through in-depth strategic collaboration POSITIVE MATERIALS supports the scaling of next-gen materials, validating early-stage technologies and transforming them into industry-ready products.

Since its formation, the BioCircular Materials Alliance has grown to include over 20 members from across the value chain, including brands, textile processors, raw material and chemical producers, recycling solution providers, and industry groups. Together, we are building momentum toward practical, scalable solutions for circularity, based on biobased materials.
We look forward to working with Decathlon, Positive Materials, Elyaf Tekstil, and Yeniçeri Tekstil as we continue our shared journey toward a more sustainable and biocircular future.
