In May 2025, Spiber’s Representative Executive Officer, Kazuhide Sekiyama, took the stage at two major international conferences in Shanghai, China: the 10th Bio-based Industry Conference and the 3rd NTMT Bio-based Textile New Materials Application Summit.

Held on May 26, the 10th Bio-based Industry Conference gathered global leaders and innovators under the theme “Go Green, Seek Quality”. The event served as a platform to explore cross-sector collaboration, the commercialization of bio-based products, and the advancement of innovative technologies. During the conference, Sekiyama shared insights into the diverse application potential of Brewed Protein™ materials, highlighting Spiber’s latest initiatives and its commitment to realizing a more sustainable society.

On the following day, May 27, the 3rd NTMT Bio-based Textile New Materials Application Summit brought attention to the development and practical use cases of bio-based textile materials. Discussions centered on next-generation technologies and accelerating the transition toward a low-carbon, circular economy. Sekiyama introduced specific examples of Brewed Protein™ fiber applications, detailing their unique characteristics and future prospects.
