Spiber to join “Fashion footprint: Unraveling the environmental impact of textiles and acting against it” panel discussion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai
Kenji Higashi, President of Spiber Europe, will speak at the program “Fashion footprint: Unraveling the environmental impact of textiles and acting against it”, which will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 10:30 to 12:15 (doors open at 10:00) during the “Future of Earth and Biodiversity Week” at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. The session is hosted by the European Commission and will be held at the Poland Pavilion.
Moderated by Matteo Ward (Founder, WRÅD), the panel will feature leading voices including Dounia Wone (Vestiaire Collective), Maria Nikolopoulou (European Economic and Social Committee), Claire Downey (Rediscovery Centre), Maria Vera Duran (EuRIC), and Kenji Higashi (Spiber). Together, the speakers will address the environmental footprint of the textile industry—including water pollution, resource depletion, and waste—and explore material innovations, supply chain strategies, and circular solutions aimed at shaping a more sustainable future.
